I love my country but i get this feel only on 15th August and 26th January. Loving families, some nice traditions, respect, breathtaking history all these things make me feel proud that I am an Indian.
Let's have a look at the life of an Indian common man. As a child we listen to our parents and go to school. After schooling we enter the real battleground. Now we need admission in a good college. And now if I am born in general category, it's my mistake. Because seats remaining for general category after all reservations is just <50%. Nice now there's 1 more way of getting admission i.e Management quota. Pay 20 lac rupees for a seat in a college and still ur future is unpredictable. And most of these colleges are owned by our beloved politicians. I just love this fact.
After 4 long years u complete ur graduation.
Now the real war starts. Now we expect a good job in a good company to secure our future. For now let's assume that u get it. Starting pay for most of the engineers is maximum 3.0 to 3.5 lac/year. At this phase our age is 23 or 24 yrs. And u are living in an apartment on rent which is owned by an NRI. I assume that in this salary u can barely afford that rent also.
Now in 2 years may be u will get married. And u r expected to own atleast a nice 2BHK flat in a nice locality. Now if you look at the real estate rates in India, it's not at all made for people working in India. Most of the flats are owned by NRIs just for investment purpose giving boost to real estate price in India. I don't say that no one has their own flats in India. But this is the today's reality. If someone has their own apartment it means either they have bought it long years ago before this real estate boom or the owner is on a higher post in government sector or he is a politician or an NRI.
When we have a look at this reality we urge for one thing "I just need one chance to go abroad. My life will be set yaar." If u can't even afford a home in ur salary then why u won't think of moving abroad. And then our government talks about Brain drain.
I just wanna tell our beloved government that before deciding the rates at first have a look at the average salary of an Indian. After all India was not built for a bunch of rich and may be corrupt people. We are working in multinational companies with a hope that someday we will get a chance to go abroad and set our lives. But I say be in India and change the system even if it takes a lifetime. Just kidding. Actually it's impractical for us, if we get a chance we will definitely move away from our country just for sake of making our lives worth living.
A gap between the slums and luxurious apartments still remains uncovered and untouched. Some corrupt politicians still rule our country just replacing the name "British Raj". Real estate rates will keep on rising because many of these projects are investment of our very own politicians. And NRI's will keep on investing their money in India. And we can just watch all these things happen and continue to live on rent in an apartment owned by an NRI.
I am thankful to our Indian government for creating this drift between India and Indians.
I love India but I won't love to be an Indian.
